the big cell phone music venue

So Saturday night we ended up at the newish Nokia thing to see Spoon, American Music Club and Mary Timony. They electronically check you for weapons and see if your id is real or not (unless you have a jersey id). They have only two beer choices (heineken or amstel, $6). There are cell phone display cases.
Still, the stage and crowd areas are actually pretty well thought out with good visibility. Two standing levels and seats. I am maybe getting to the point where seats are where it's at.

Spoon was pretty good. Good like the first show we saw this year; better sounding than the second. At one point they did a run of too much newer stuff in a row, but overall it was very good. Strange crowd though; people picked strange moments to leave for their suburban trains.

I felt bad for Mark Eitzel, and I could tell he was annoyed. AMC hasn't played too much for awhile, and to be in a big venue with a lot of not-carers was a drag.

Mary Timony was pretty fun. I have said that maybe she should become a Jick as I think she would push SMalkmus a bit and also they seem to currently be interested in the same kind of guitar progfolk.
