Last night we started the weekend of activity-fun with Okkervil River and Damien Jurado at Webster Hall.
The Stage Names is one of the better albums of the year, and I like it better than Black Sheep Boy. The new songs play well live and the show was a good time. I find W. Sheff a bit too precious at times, even as I like most of the songs well enough.
Damien Jurado's set would have been better suited for another room, and his songs deserve more attention than I was able to give them last night.

Here's a link from one of the free morning newspapers to have a little coverage of OR this week.
Tomorrow's D.C. show will be streamed by NPR.
