I saw a couple of free shows last week that I didn't mention at the time.
Went to go see Neko Case and Eric Bachmann at Summerstage on Friday.

I enjoyed Eric Bachmann's opening set. It touched on Archers of Loaf and Crooked Fingers materials as well as the newest stuff. Pleasant and well constructed songs.

Neko Case stands out for her voice more than anything else. The New Pornographers are indisputably better when she is able to play with them. I like her last solo album and the ones before are pretty OK too. Still, I found her show a bit same y as it kept going. The covers, such as Buckets of Rain, stood out, so I guess that says something about her earlier songwriting.
