Last night we saw
Spoon at Webster Hall. I guess it was kind of a fake new years show. Anyway, a really strong set from a good live band. I think they played the same new songs they played back at Pitchfork in the summer.
Benjee Ferree opened and was pretty good. Countryish and kind of plodding midway before going a bit more electric and speedy. A little less excessively obnoxious than
Elvis Perkins, who has fully inhaled the same smug that Colin Meloy currently exists on. We saw EP a few weeks ago, opening for the
Pernice Brothers. PBs were good but a little rough after a lot of touring.

pictures are both from
tammylo's flickr. which is weird. i guess we're at the same shows.
