happy sunday

George Saunders on the mother country:
"In conclusion, I love Britain. In fact, I would like to suggest the reconciliation of Britain and the United States into one nation, to be called the United Anti-Terror States Of Britain. The combination of British clarity, smartness, kindness, hospitality, humour, education and literacy, and American loudness/arrogance, is sure to establish the United Anti-Terror States Of Britain as a great and enduring superpower."

Here's a nice write up on the new Pernice Brothers song that you can go download

Here's what The Hold Steady are up to. I was kind of sad that their october new york show was on a sunday, but the monday is a no school day because of yom kippur. I also found that you can download some rare-ish songs from their myspace.

Here is another TV on the Radio article. There's still not much on their webpage other than some youtube promo bits.

Here's an article on the return of the New York Dolls.

Here's the NY Time playlist from the Band of Horses guy

Apparently there is going to be a Wes Anderson/Owen Wilson movie set in India that is "not a buddy comedy movie"
