Vincent D'Onofrio is very smart

I watched Law and Order: Criminal Intent tonight. It is the only Law and Order series that I like. The reason I like it is this: Vincent D'Onofrio is very smart. Tonight he worked out this whole thing having to do with horses and heroin and fertility drugs. He was also good in the movie Steal this Movie, in which he did not play Vincent D'Onofrio but instead played Abbie Hoffman. Incidentally, in Rick Moody's Garden State, which I finished a while ago, there is reference to a band named D'Onofrio. I hope that Vincent D'Onofrio considers this a tribute, even though any correlation is highly doubtful.
