I just finished reading the Collected Stories of Leonard Michaels. One of the best things I've read this year. There's about 40 years of stories in this volume, all of it interesting but a noticeable transition as time continued. I think I found the later stuff easier to read; it seemed to be trying less hard. But throughout, killer sentences that really stood out. A good find from this BPL list.
