The NY Times on the trend to pair orchestras with indie rock bands.
It seems like this is being initiated by the orchestras in most cases. I don't think it's really hit NYC yet; perhaps the orchestras and the bands do sufficiently well here independently of each other that there isn't really much rationale for team ups.
