Last night I saw Summer Hymns at Cakeshop. Folklore and The Instruments opened, so it was a bunch of bands with tangential connections to the Elephant 6 scene.

Summer Hymns played a bunch of new stuff from the recent album but also some old favorites like Mr. Brewer. The playing definitely solidified there position in my ranking of favorite bands.

Folklore was a bit of a revelation for me; very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to hearing the cd I picked up at the show.
