The Riddle of the Traveling Skull

A couple weeks ago I read the Riddle of the Traveling Skull by Harry Stephen Keeler. It was originally published in 1934 and was recently reissued by the Collins Library/McSweeneys.

Keeler published many books in the mystery genre, and had conventions all his own. There are many exclamation points on each page. The plots of his books are not especially coherent. He's either a love or hate proposition, apparently.

Today there is a Harry Stephen Keeler Society. Another website here. And because of how the internet works, there is a publish-on-demand type service for many of Keeler's books.

At that last site, you can read the first chapter of the available works....it may be more than enough for you!
