So I was picking up my free newspapers on Wednesday and was surprised to see a photo of Tuesday night's free Eels show on the cover. It was a good show, fun and only a little tedious. A lot harder sounding than you would have thought from listening to the albums. But obviously a reaction to the "eels with strings" tour of last year that was released on dvd and cd. A bunch of little girls were there to see Smoosh. The Smoosh set was good enough, but half a dozen songs was about the upper limit. They were certainly most fun when jumping about during Eels' encore of "I like Birds."
