Bass Clarinet!

Last night we went to the Metric show at Webster Hall. Really, I went to see Islands, who used to be some of the Unicorns.

Islands were pretty great. It's kind of hard to find too much information about them right now (here's a little bit), but it seems they have an album coming out. The lineup last night involved violins, banjo, clarinet and bass clarinet at times.

Metric was really slick, and we left after a few songs. After seeing the general reaction to this band, I expected something more exciting. It may be that everything is too much of a science for this band right now. Everything seemed very calibrated and not too interesting.
