Sometimes quite a while ago, we went to a reading by a bunch of authors at Cooper Union. Dave Eggers read what was then a story-in-progress; it was well received. It was funny and liberal-minded and now it is a story that is published. Read it on the website or get Eggers' new book of collected short stories.
Over this past weekend we saw Team America. It was about as expected. Funny in parts but the writers don't care about making any kind of sophisticated work. Definitely overlong, but that should be expected, considering that South Park often feels too long in the half hour format.
Not too much else is happening. There is a NY Times Magazine article about Bush and certainty/faith, that isn't going to change anyone's mind.
