happenings

Recently,

Saw Beulah at Castle Clinton. It was promoted as their last show ever, but after they threw out their setlists amidst rain and Miles endured electric shocks from his microphone I am wondering if there will be a do-over.

Saw The Natural History and Enon at the seaport. I like the garage rock on the Natural History. They need a new drummer, though, as the old one is retired. Enon was somewhat spastic, but the vocals weren't so hot.

Played a couple of games of mini-golf in New Jersey.

Read The Color of Water by James McBride. My mom recommended this book; it's the kind of inspirational memoir she really likes.

Purchased overpriced r.e.m. tickets.

I am reading Amnesia Moon by Jonathan Lethem. This is odd, imaginative science fiction.

Still looking forward to seeing the new Manchurian Candidate. Watched the old film last night; it was worth buying the dvd.
