Deep into the interweb

Here are more of my "favorites".

http://www.housingworks.org/usedbookcafe/
Housing Works helps people with AIDS. They have some nice thrift shops and the very nice used book cafe. I have purchased some nice books there, and the people are friendly. They also have special events. Once I saw Joe Pernice play a short set there.

http://www.louissachar.com/
Louis Sachar writes books that are mostly read by children. His books are good books. He wrote the Wayside School books which I remember my sixth grade teacher reading outloud to us after lunch. He also wrote Holes, which I did a book club with last year. It is an pretty ok movie; fifth grade girls are into the boy in the movie. (If you were a teacher you would dig the lesson plans that are available on the movie page.)

New York Cares
This is an organization that did some nice murals at my school a year or so ago.

Elephant 6
The Elephant 6 Collective is/was a bunch of bands from places like Athens Ga. They are kind of retro poppy/ retro inspired. Some of the bands that I like are associated with this idea, including Neutral Milk Hotel, Elf Power, Olivia Tremor Control, Beulah...

Maybe more later....
